AYP Senior’s Describe Themselves

As high school senior photographers, we’ve had the absolute pleasure to celebrate and document a very important time in several high school senior’s lives this season. We traveled to Boston, the Berkshires, into Central and Southern CT and all over Western, MA with our Class of 2019 Seniors this year. Throughout the journey from consultation to session to reveal we learned a great deal about each of the young adults we spent time with. They all blew us away. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and again. The future is bright with these kids who know who they are and what they want. Even the kids who didn’t have a concise post grad plan, knew what direction they wanted to go in. Almost all of them are taking AP courses, excelling in athletics, the arts and sciences, are active and giving back in their communities and churches and are polite and happy young adults.  We love these seniors!

When we first met with the kids we asked them several questions to get to the know them and what they envisioned for their session. We asked them to tell us three words that best described who they are. Most were able to answer right away. And most of the parents were proud as can be when they heard their child’s responses. A few of the moms even teared up a little. (we had to make a serious investment in tissue this year!). Interestingly, every single parent was in complete agreement with their child’s self-assessment.

We thought it would be fun to share the senior’s adjectives. So here is a word cloud that combines the answers of all of the Class of 2019 kids that we had the privilege of photographing. The larger the word, the more frequently we heard it to describe this year’s seniors. We found this fascinating. We hope you do too! Enjoy!

Side note: To all Andrea York Photography current and past seniors….stop in to see us during your break (either at the studio or up at Yankee Candle!).  We’d love to catch up and give you a welcome home hug! Best of luck on your finals!
